How to make yuca flour?

To make yuca flour, there are three sections you should take into consideration: the cleaning, processing and drying sections.

First of all, the cleaning section for making yuca flour means you should clean all the impurities attached on cassava tubers and peel the poisonous cassava layers. The working flow is like this: fresh cassava is sent to the paddle washer to wash off the mud and accompanying stones on the cassava after the weeds and other foreign matters are removed through the dry sieve. After that, the clean cassava is sent to the peeling machine to remove the inner and outer skins which on the one hand, are unsafe for eating, on the other hand, will influence the taste of final powder with their fibers.

After peeling, it comes to the processing section, which is the most important one for making yuca flour because it defines the productivity of final flour. The working flow in this part is as follows: the peeled cassava is cut into small pieces by the cutting machine and then sent into the rasper, a frustration mill, to be beaten into fine cassava pulp. The cassava pulp is sent into the intermediate tank in which it will be diluted with water and stirred to prevent from sinking, and then pumped into the plate frame for dewatering by the screw pump to complete the whole processing section.

Finally, the drying section for making yuca flour ensures the quality of final powder. After dewatering, yuca flour cake is crushed into powder by a hammer mill and then sent into two-stage airflow dryer by hoist for drying. Negnative pressure drying principle of the flash dryer reduce the humidity to below 14%, and fully sealed design lows the yuca flour loss, both ensuring the drying effect and the flour productivity.
